| Max was abandoned together with his brother
Pinko, eleven years ago, on a country road in the
middle of a hot summer. Someone left them with a
container filled with dry food and no water.
Alberto, one of our dogs at that time, discovered
Max, during one of his walks. Alberto had a
particular ability to find abandoned cats and he
was very proud of his discoveries. After finding
Max, we suspected that more kittens may have been
abandoned at the same time. Two day later we
found another one, that we called Pinko, a very
timid and absolutely gorgeous orange tabby. Max
and Pinko were extremely bonded. After an aborted
adoption ( we discovered that they intended to
keep the two cats outside as "mousers"), Max and
Pinko remained with us. Pinko unfortunately
contracted abdominal cancer and he died in 2002.
Max has never been the same cat since. He has not
bonded with any other cats here. He prefers to
remain on his own. However he enjoys the great
outdoors and in the summer he cries to go out in
the covered cat enclosure. Max is a very
affectionate and smart cat. He likes to "play
funny” and climb as high as he can, sometimes on
the top of doors and then he looks at you with a
sort of smile: "look at me , look at me" he seems
to say. |
